MAPPING & ADDRESSING

I. Purpose

Warren County 911 is the Addressing authority for Warren County. We address all unincorporated areas in Warren County. The cities of Wright City, Warrenton, Truesdale, Marthasville and Innsbrook have their own addressing scheme and they issue their own addresses.


II. Authority

III. Procedures

A. New Address

1. Citizen must fill out "New Address Request Form"
2. Mapping Personnel must drive the new requested address to place the new residence/lane on the map.

a. Except when the requested address is from a subdivision and the address has already been assigned to a specific lot number.

3. One residence per driveway. (More than one residence requires a road name.)

4. Warren County Emergency Services has 10 business days to issue the new address.

5. All requests will be driven to place them on the map

6. Citizens receiving a new address will be contacted by phone with the new address issued.

7. New address will then be written on the "New Address Request Form" and filed under the appropriate file.

8. Notification of the new address shall be sent to:

a. Centurytel

b. Post Office

c. Assessor’s Office

B. New Road Name

1. Accessing property from an existing driveway requires the driveway to be named.

2. If residents of the road want to change the existing road name given by Warren County Emergency Services, all residents musts agree to the new road name change.

3. It is the responsibility of the residents of the new road to provide adequate posting of the new road sign

4. Road names shall not be duplicated

5. Notification of the new road name shall be sent to:

a. Centurytel

b. Post Office

c. Assessor’s Office

d. Ambulance District

e. Fire District

f. Law Enforcement

C. Issuing a 5 Digit Address

1. Determine what direction the new road will predominately run.

a. Roads running North and South will utilize the block numbers beginning at the Southern County line and increasing in numbers to Northern County line.

b. Roads running East and West will utilize the block numbers beginning at the Eastern County line and increasing numbers to the Western County line.

2. Find intersection of roads on the wall map

3. Move up and down as tenths of miles decrease or increase

4. Determine odd or even side of the road:

a. Southeast = Even Northwest = Odd

5. Issue address

a. Example: 21405

i. 21- Block number

ii. 4 - Tenths of mile the residence is from the nearest cross street

iii. 05- Determine what side of the road the residence is on (Southeast - Even / Northwest - Odd)
